The next monthly discussion meetup is Saturday, October 7 @ 2 PM. For this meetup, we’ll be doing ⚡️lightning discussions⚡️. We did lightning talks in May, and this seemed to go well! We are going to experiment with a more interactive and lower stakes version of this format.
We’ll have a series of short discussions (15-20 minutes) on various topics, chosen by volunteers. They will spend a few minutes introducing their topic before opening the floor for discussion. We’ve got a tentative schedule, but if you’re interested in introducing a discussion, let us know. No readings this month, due to the format. Just show up and enjoy the conversation.
Also, please feel free to come even if you’re worried it will be awkward, you won’t fit in, or you aren’t the “typical person who comes to a Rationality meetup.” We are welcoming (albeit occasionally argumentative)!
